Automated Join Creation in Schema Manager
Feature Description
Building relationships between multiple tables can be time-consuming, especially when users need to manually identify matching fields and configure joins before they can start building their data model. This can make schema creation slower and add unnecessary effort to the data modeling process.
Lumenore Schema Manager now automatically identifies potential relationships between selected tables and generates an initial set of joins before opening the Join Builder. By analyzing available metadata such as matching column names, compatible data types, primary and foreign key information, and datasource metadata, Lumenore identifies likely relationships and pre-populates the corresponding joins. Users can then review, modify, or refine the generated joins within the Join Builder, while processing statistics provide visibility into relationship discovery and join generation.
By automating the initial relationship discovery process, Lumenore helps users create schemas faster, reduce manual configuration, and get to data modeling sooner, while retaining complete flexibility to review and refine the generated relationships.
End User Business Benefits
Accelerate Schema Creation
Automatically generated joins provide a ready starting point, reducing the time required to manually identify and configure table relationships.
Reduce Manual Effort
Lumenore takes care of the initial relationship discovery, allowing users to focus on validating and refining the data model rather than building every join from scratch.
Build Data Models Faster
By pre-populating likely relationships in the Join Builder, users can move more quickly from table selection to a usable schema structure.
Improve Relationship Discovery
Metadata-driven relationship detection helps surface potential connections between tables based on available column and key information.
Maintain Full Control
Automatically generated joins remain editable, allowing users to review, modify, or refine relationships according to their specific modeling requirements.
Improve Modeling Visibility
Processing statistics provide greater visibility into metadata processing, relationship discovery, and join generation during schema creation.
